A day for sharp minds, perhaps a bit too sharpas your thoughts may race farther than ability to act on them, and so, you may find yourself commiting to things you can’t get accomplished. This is courtesy of the Moon being trine Mercury while in opposition to Jupiter.Magickally, a day to deal with slights and impediments, but don’y employ a mallet when tweezers will do.

Friday, September 05, 2014, 12 Maimakterion, no particular dedication in the Athenian calendar, in Roman rites dedicated to Jupiter Stator (the Preserver), Great Fire of London finally put out, 1666, fist meeting of the Continental Congress 1774, birthday of Louis XIV 1638, 12th night of the Waxing Moon, starting in Capricorn, then going Void of Course from 11:06 A.M. to 7:59 P.M., then entering Aquarius, overseen by the 17th Decan, Ophicus, ruled by Venus, starting in the 23rd Mansion of the Moon, Sa’d Bula/Caaddebolach, good for health, freedom, then entering the 24th Mansion of the Moon, Al Sulud/Caaddcohot, good for overcoming those against you, general success, around 1:00 P.M.

Well, if you planned and strategized yesterday, today is one for implementation. The Moon being sextile Saturn and Mars makes us all into productive citizens today, if you accept the challenge. One’s magick should se similarly focused on removing barriers, and getting things down. Break up the logjam!

Thursday, September 04, 2014, 11 Maimakterion, no particular dedication, Romulus Augustulus, last Roman Emperor, is diposed 476 AD, Henry Hudson sights Manhattan Island 1609, Edmund Halley observes comet (now know as Halley’s comet) 1682, founding of Los Angeles 1781, birth of Mary Renault 1905, 11th night of the Waxing Moon, in Capricorn, overseen by the 17th Decan, Ophicus, ruled by Venus, starting in the 22nd Mansion Sa’d da’bih/Caadaldepa, good for health, liberation, around 1:30 A.M, finally entering the the 23rd Mansion of the Moon, Sa’d Bula/Caaddebolach, also good for health, freedom, around 3:00 P.M.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with Jupiter at 6:25 A.M., and last 65 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with the Moon at 7:25 P.M., lasting 55 minutes, Sun in Virgo, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Leo, Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Scorpio.
This will likely turn into one of those days when the mind races between tasks, trying to come up with answers and strategies. Frankly, an overactive mind is exhausting, but there we have it. Some good should come of this confluence of the Capricorn Moon being conjunct Pluto, sextile Neptune, and square Uranus (all of which are retrograde). As all this nervous contemplation is under the auspices of the Moon also being trine the Sun, it should be possible to come up with some good plans. One’s magicks should be best employed on matters of security, protecting one’s position and assets.

Wednesday, September 03, 2014, 10 Maimakterion, 10th night of the Waxing Moon, starting in Sagittarius, then going Void of Course from 2:06 P.M. to 6:14 P.M., then entering Capricorn, no particular dedication, death of Oliver Cromwell 1658, overseen by the 17th Decan, Ophicus, ruled by Venus, starting in the 21st Mansion of the Moon, Al Bal’dah/ Elbelda, good for acquiring material possessions, then entering the 22nd Mansion Sa’d da’bih/Caadaldepa, good for health, liberation, around 7:15 P.M.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with Mercury at 6:24 A.M., and last 65.1 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with the Sun at 7:26 P.M., lasting 54.9 minutes, Sun in Virgo, Mercury in Libra, Venus in Leo, Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Scorpio.
After the difficult passage of the last few days, isn’t nice that today holds nothing more terrifying than incessant chatter and warm feelings? Anyway, Venus in Leo is trine Venus, which should dissipate tensions both at home and the workplace. As the Moon moves into Capricorn, it squares Mercury, which can lead to oversharing and rambling soliloquies, an effect which will carry into tomorrow. All in all, let’s count this as a win. It’s also safe to take out your magickal toolbox, and for us to resume healing damage done by others.

Tuesday, September 02, 2014, 9 Maimakterion, no particular dedication, 9th night of the Waxing Moon, in Sagittarius, end of the Roman republic with the Battle of Actium, Octavian defeating the forces of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra 31 BCE, Greta Fire of London begins 1666, The Colonies and Great Britian switch from the Julian to Georgian calender 1752, death of Pheidippides, who ran to Athens from Marathon to announce Greek victory 490 BCE, first overseen by the 16th Decan, Thurmis, ruled by the Sun, the oversight then passing to the 17th Decan, Ophicus, ruled by Venus around 8:30 A.M., starting in the 20th Mansion, Al Nalaim/Nahaym, good for compulsion, underhanded dealings, good for travel, then entering the 21st Mansion of the Moon, Al Bal’dah/ Elbelda, good for acquiring material possessions, around 9:00 P.M.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with Mars at 6:23 A.M., and last 65.4 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with Saturn at 7:28 P.M., lasting 54.6 minutes, Sun in Virgo, Mercury starts in Virgo, then enters Libra 1:38 A.M., Venus in Leo, Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Scorpio.
Another unsettled day, as the 1st quarter can be; the Moon being square Neptune retrograde and the Sun early in the morning generates dissatisfaction. While you can see a clear path to one’s goals, things seem to not fall into place to achieve them. This makes it hard to see what positive things are occurring today under the auspices of the Moon being trine Jupiter. Try to hold it together, despite not achieving your heart’s desire. Unless you can settle your mind, this is not a great day for magical work, as desire might cause you to blunder; otherwise there is a great temptation to manipulate the actions of others.
This Decan is represented by two male figures, one clad in hides, the other iron; they embody striving, work, acquisition.

Monday, September 01, 2014, 8 Maimakterion, dedicated to Poseidon in the Athenian Calender, in Roman rites dedicated to Jupiter the Thunderer and Juno the Queen, death of Louis XIV 1715, 8th night of the Waxing Moon, starting in Scorpio, then going Voif of Course from 11:40 A.M. to 1:13 P.M., then entering Sagittarius, overseen by the 16th Decan, Thurmis, ruled by the Sun, starting in the 19th Mansion, Al Shaulah/ Exaula, good for all defensive and aggressive work, then entering the 20th Mansion, Al Nalaim/Nahaym, good for compulsion, underhanded dealings, good for travel, around 7 P.M.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with the Moon at 6:22 A.M., and last 65.6 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with Venus at 7:29 P.M., lasting 54.4 minutes, Sun in Virgo, Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Leo, Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Leo, Saturn in Scorpio.
Well, it will be difficult to make this a good day. The Moon is square Venus and sextile Mercury in the morning, which just stirs up discontent and empowers one to really voice one’s opinions on how one has been slighted. So, petulance and hard feelings rule the day, just a perfect combination for Labor Day gatherings. One’s magickal workings can seem equally as curdled today; I would advise just laying low.
