Wednesday, January 01, 2014, 1 Elaphebolion, dedicated to one’s personal deities in the Athenian calendar, in Roman rites dedicated to Aesculapius, New Moon in Capricorn, starting in the 22nd Mansion Sa’d a-da’bih/Caadaldepa, good for health, liberation, around 4:00 A.M., finally entering the 23rd Mansion of the Moon, Sa’d Bula/Caaddebolach, also good for health, freedom, around Noon.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with Mercury at 7:20 A.M., and last 46.5 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with the Moon at 4:38 P.M., lasting 73.5 minutes. Sun in Capricorn, Mercury in Capricorn, Venus retrograde in Capricorn, Mars in Libra, Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio.
The start of the year finds us in something of a mental quandary. A general stalemate makes it hard to move forward, much as one might like. The impetus towards change and action, generated by the New Moon being conjunct the Sun and Mercury should make it easy to get on with things, and express one’s dissatisfactions, but the Moon being sextile Saturn and in opposition to Jupiter act as a drag, allowing one to simply let things happen, rather than to take an active hand. As for the outer planets, the Moon being square Uranus while the Sun is conjunct Pluto just dredges up those subconscious fears and concerns which are generally distractions rather than a plan for action. Taken together, it is probably just better to nurse your hangover, and not implement any sweeping changes. Your resolution should be not to act on yours, as it’s difficult to make a correct choice. Magically, a day to look backward and finish up old work, rather than engaging in new endeavors.
