Tuesday, February 17, 2015, 29/30 Mounichion, dedicated to Hekate, in Roman rites day 5 of the Parentalia, as well as the Fornacalia, honoring Fornax, who oversaw baking in the hearth, and the day of the Quirnialia, honoring Quirnius, as well as Mardi Gras, Giordano Bruno burned alive at Campo di Fiori in Rome 1600, Dark of the Moon in Aquarius, overseen by the 33rd Decan, Tepis, ruled by the Moon, starting in the 24th Mansion of the Moon, Al Sulud/Caaddcohot, good for overcoming those against you, general success, then entering the 25th Mansion of the Moon, Al Alibiya/Caadulhachbia, good for hindering the activities of others, revenge, around 8:00 A.M.
Planetary Hours of the Day begin with Mars at 6:48 A.M., and last 53.4 minutes. Planetary Hours of the Night commence with Saturn at 5:31 P.M., lasting 66.6 minutes, Sun in Aquarius, Mercury in Aquarius, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Pisces, Jupiter retrograde in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius.
Well, it’s quite a confluence of holiday influences today (I’m trying to remember the last time Hekate could be considered Queen of Mardi Gras, for example). During the day the Moon is sextile Saturn and Uranus, which makes for an easy track to doggedly pursue one’s goals, or rather your desires. This is transformed into quite an evening of self-indulgence, as the Moon is in Opposition to Jupiter retrograde, allowing the lid to come off the Id. Party hard indeed. As for one’s magicks, though not a “traditional” day for such activities, it is a perfect evening for nercromantic work. At the very least, it’s a day wherein it’s easy to utilize the dark.
