The Wonderful World of Occult Cigarette Cards

Long before bubble gum cards, cigarette packs came with collectible inserts, covering a wide range of images (the famous Honorius Wagner baseball card was one such). This image is one of 50 in a series entitled "Lucky Charms", produced by W.D. & H.O. Wills, Bristol & London, issued in 1923. This is the Udjat, or "sound" Eye of Horus, created to replace the one he lost during a battle with his brother Set. When written as a hieroglyph, each element is also a fractional notation, adding up to 63/64, the missing 1/64th added verbally by Tehuti/Thoth. It denotes "Strength", especially the power of the Sun during the Summer Solstice. Feel free to print a copy, and carry it in your wallet.
